The spacing of the bollards at the north end parking lot is only about 44 inches, but it is nonetheless possible to drivea motor vehicle around on the right. Many path users also go around on the right, judging by the wear to the embankment -- but bicyclists risk diversion of a wheel by the raised edge of the path. John Allen photo, 2001, looking south.
